I got my Mom signed up for Yahoo so she could legitimately join the mystery stole knit-along. I felt weird about sending her the pattern, since it's anti-copyright...and I like to support the designers. So I got her on there.
I still don't have the yarn for it...and probably won't for the foreseeable future, but I started playing around with my embroidery floss to check swatching.
I figured out two things: using embroidery floss would cost about forty bucks in addition to the terrifying number of ends I'd have to weave in at the end and I desperately need point protectors so I don't have to use my 14 inch needles for the beginning of the swatch, but I'll also need to get a long circular needle so that I can accomodate the crazy number of stitches that will be present as the project progresses.
Right now, I'm working on a Dishcloth KAL from my favorite knitted dishcloth group It's orange Sugar 'n Cream.
I also have a sock on needles. I'm little past the cuff, but not much, and that's being made in Tofutsies in this weird rainbow colorway. It's kinda nice to knit with, but I think the only reason it doesn't bore me is because it's made with soy silk and chitin, mixed in with wool...
I guess that's it right now...I don't really have anything else going right now. I wish I had a camera to share pictures. Oh well.

MS 3
Thanks to the Yarn Harlot (a.k.a. my queen), I have signed up the Mystery Stole 3 Knit-Along.
I don't have yarn (or the beads) for it yet, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get the supplies, but that's okay. For now, I'll just collect up the pattern pieces, and get started whenever I can.
I'm looking to use KnitPicks Alpaca Cloud (though I'm not opposed to their other merino wool laceweights) in Smoke Heather. Don't know about the beads yet, but we'll see how the color of the yarn inspires me.
My Mom is sorta into it too...which is funny I think...laceweight seems to scare her a bit. But maybe we can work on this together. She didn't sign up for it, but she's got me to send her stuff, so she'll be able to work without having to sign up for Yahoo.
Anywho...had a small (turned out to be almost nothing) mini-emergency with my oldest cat, Nuisance this morning. But thankfully, it turned out to be much less dire than we had thought, and he's feeling much better after treatment from the vet. He's got some antibiotics and an ointment. But he's mostly resting now.
I'm gonna try to knit some curtains today...or at least to design them....we'll see how that goes.

Noro Kureyon
So...
What's the deal with the all-reaching power of Noro Kureyon?
I, myself, have never used this yarn, but I see it recommended for patterns all over the internet. But, when I look at pictures of the yarn, and after the one time fondling it at the LYS, I just don't get what the fuss is.
Maybe I should attempt to make something with it...but I can't bring myself to pay for something for which I see no purpose.
Can anyone explain to me why it seems to be so coveted?

Obligatory First Post
Well, since I'm now on Ravelry, I've decided that it's also time to succumb to having a knitting blog.
I haven't really decided how exactly I want to be using this...but I imagine it will be a standard knitting blog.
Off for now...will post later.
